Yamaha 150cc Bike Review

Yamaha announced the newest release in its 150cc lineup, the FZ16. The FZ16 will join its predecessor, the YZF-R15 in the Indian market. This new release is due to a demand in the market for a bike that gives great performance around town, plus a look and feel that gives pride of ownership.

Yamaha Motor’s in the middle of its plan to rebuild the industry in India, and this bike shows that they are serious. Not only is the bike expected to increase the 2nd largest market that Yamaha has, but the rear tire and front fork are both manufactured in India. This is also the first liquid cooled bike in India, giving it better stability and less vibration.

The bike, which features an advanced fuel injection system, a digital display in addition to the analog meter, and disc breaks front and rear, has a look and feel like the big boys. The pickup and response from the engine is second to none in its class – the driver can really feel the speed out of the gate.

This bike handles and brakes very well, with plenty of mid-range torque, from its 153cc 4-stroke, 2-valve engine. The bike boasts an electric starter and 5-speed transmission. The only possible downsides are a slightly higher price tag and less than optimal mileage. But for a bike that looks and performs this great, that is a small price to pay.
