Google Chrome OS – Google’s Operating System is Coming Soon!

Google Chrome Operating System, the new OS announced by Google, is expected to redefine the concept of what operating systems should be. The free open source operating system will initially be aimed at the small, lightweight devices known as netbooks.

The Google Chrome OS is scheduled to be released next year, and the netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010.

A netbook is a laptop computer designed for wireless communication and access to the Internet – web browsing and e-mailing. Netbooks typically run on light weight operating systems, rather than more resource-intensive operating systems. The devices range in size from below 5 inches to over 13, typically weigh less than 1 kg.

The Google Chrome OS will be simple and easy to use minimal user interface, secure, fast and lightweight, start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds. Google promises to completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the Chrome OS so that users don’t have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates. It should just work.

Google Chrome OS will run on both x86 as well as ARM chips. The Google Chrome OS runs within a new windowing system on top of a Linux kernel. For application developers, the web is the platform. All web-based applications will automatically work and new applications can be written using your favorite web technologies. These apps will run on any standards-based browser on Windows, Mac and Linux thereby giving developers the largest user base of any platform. Google Chrome OS is being designed to power computers ranging from small netbooks to full-size desktop systems.

I hope that finally I will have the simple and easy to use operating system and not worry about dialy security updates and registry tuning!
